This small campground is found in Red Deer River Provincial Recreation Area, 60 km southwest of Sundre on Forestry Trunk Road (Hwy. 734). Sites are located on the north bank of the Red Deer River. This foothills campground provides excellent river access for rafting and for experienced canoers and kayakers.<br>Opening date subject to snow levels.Firewood sales from service vehicle.Water is available from a hand pump at this site. Ribbon Lake Backcountry Campground is in Spray Valley Provincial Park. There are several different ways to access it, including trail heads at Buller Mountain Day Use, Galatea Day Use, and Ribbon Creek Day Use. Note that there is a very steep section of trail with chains to aid climbing between Ribbon Falls and Ribbon Lake. Ribbon Lake is a gem tucked away in the heart of Spray Valley. Enjoy the peace and tranquility at this site. Here there are tent pads, group fire pits, firewood, pit/vault toilets, and secure food storage lockers.
